Highlands is looking for an interim Children's Ministry Coordinator to invest in the lives and faith of the youngest in our faith community by coordinating Adventureland (children's Sunday program) and supporting the faithful volunteers and staff who serve in this area.

Interim Children’s Ministry – Coordinator

(Nursery-5th grade)


HOURS: 15 hours a week – $15k/year


PURPOSE OF POSITION: To ignite the desire for a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ in children and to encourage and equip parents in developing a biblical world-view in their children. To teach a Bible-based curriculum and encourage a Biblically-based lifestyle among the children. To provide leadership, administrative oversight, coaching, and support to a vibrant volunteer team and paid childcare staff.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  2. Desire to teach and mentor children with patience and an accepting heart.
  3. Have an educational background in Christian Ministries, Biblical Studies, Child Development or a related field (preferred). 


JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  1. Provide oversight, leadership, and teaching of the Children’s Ministry that includes the following programs / events: Adventureland, Worship Nights.
  2. Recruit, coordinate, schedule and follow-up with Sunday morning Adventureland volunteers and staff.
  3. Implement and teach an age-appropriate, biblically based curriculum that has a long-term vision for teaching the major stories and themes of Scripture.
  4. Oversee the current Check-In/Check-Out procedure thereby providing a great first impression to visitors and a safe and secure environment for children.
  5. Maintain a professional, clean, organized, de-cluttered spaces / rooms, conscientious of the fact that Highlands’ space is shared, multi-use, and limited.
  6. Manage supplies and financial resources to stay within the approved ministry budget. 
  7. Participate in weekly staff meetings with the Highlands staff and/or staff supervisor.
  8. Support other Highland’s ministries / programs / events as needed.
